Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all staying healthy and Corona-free! It really feels like the pandemic is winding down, doesn’t it? Although in my home state of Connecticut, Governor Lamont is keeping the shutdown in effect until June. I’ve no right to complain, this is life. Being the state Governor isn’t my job, it’s somebody else’s. This means more mask time for me, more sanitizer, more…etc.
So without further ado, I want to thank all of you for allowing me to reach 50 WordPress followers!(of course I should also thank those following me via email. Come join WordPress, y’all! It’s a nice place we got here!) I started this blog back in February as a marketing vehicle for my book. It’s fair to say in the span of 2 months it’s already grown into something more. I’ve written book reviews either by request or out of enjoyment. I have offered my interpretations through the written word. I also offered constructive criticism for writers I’ve met on social media.
I could go on and on, but it would get schmaltzy real fast. Plus, I should save my real messages of gratitude for the bigger milestones later on, yeah? Don’t want to burn that fuel out when the race has barely started!
But, seriously guys, thank you. The 52 of you were here at the start of this website. You guys have read and liked my blogs. You’ve tolerated every speck of insanity typed into my words. I may sound slightly unhinged at times, but it’s a reflection of my personality. It’s great I finally found a way to channel that, along with my creativity.
Again, thank you all.
Now, for some announcements: Heather’s Mannequin is now available on FIVE different ebook platforms! I got the notification this morning that my book has been approved for Apple Books (link below). The book is also available for download on Kindle, Nook, Google Play, and Kobo. The paperback is available on Amazon if you want to go down the traditional route. My goal is to give the book as much exposure as possible.
Announcement Number 2: The first draft of Heather’s Veil, the sequel to Mannequin, is now done! Now, before you get excited, this will have to go through a lengthy editing process. You see, yours truly was pretty bullish when writing the second half. He just wanted the first draft to be done after 4 months!
I’m aiming to do a different approach to the drafting period this time. I will distance myself from the manuscript for a few weeks and then tackle the editing part when my intuition says so. For Mannequin, I was attached to the manuscript from the 1st draft all the way to the day of publication. Did this help or hurt the novel? Well, I’ll leave that up to the readers and reviewers to decide!
Anyway, I think Veil is a terrific followup to Mannequin and really adds to the main character’s arc in a great, non-cliche way. At the moment, I would say the release date will be before 2020 closes out.
In the meantime, enjoy Mannequin on 5 different reading platforms!
