Golden hair and a pot of gold
Eyes of doubloons, riches to behold!

There’s an island, on a sea far, far away
What was I, but an outcast and a castaway?
What were we, gold and gold or blue and gray?

If only I knew, about this lass
She was worth far more than brass!

Now, I never, ever had a mother
But I went and found the Mother Lode!
That island, our island, under Heaven’s cover
That sea, their sea, nary a returning road

Here my granite lighthouse, is standing tall
Shining through a crack, in the ocean’s wall
Reaching far out, to where I used to be
Reaching far out, to where we used to be

The X marks the spot, across this rolling sea

Golden hair and a pot of gold
Heart of a jewel, a treasure she never sold!

There’s a heart, in a world far away
Where was I? A stray dog led astray?
Where were we? Nary a shelter to stay?

If only I knew,
about this…
That we were worth more
than this…

Now, I never had a father
But Father Time, he looms over me
That time, our time, the world didn’t bother
Those lives, our lives, truly were we free

Here I come, on the bow of my ship
Map in my heart, nary a radar’s blip
Heading out to where I used to be
Heading out to where you used to be

The X marked the spot, now a hole so deep
A hole washed over by the rolling sea

Golden hair and a pot of gold

A jewel’s heart, in my memory, valued tenfold
Doubloon eyes, in my dreams, may I ever behold

Blonde woman looking past a river to the sunset.
